How I started this 'NMR' hobby!
Originally, someone had ask if it was possible to do real NMR in whole body imagers. Well, having moved from High Resolution NMR, to solid state MAS NMR, to NMR where you don't dare spin, I thought I might give some insight (and even perhaps some inspiration) to NMR people trying to look into MRI/MRS! Well, it turns out that some of the MRI/MRS people don't fully understand (or perhaps, appreciate is more appropriate) the NMR roots that MRI/MRS has. The 'delta vs. tau' legacy, for one! Dennis Hare once told me that he had never run any CW NMR, or even a pulsed FT NMR under 500 MHz for that matter! So it occured to me that there may be NMR people out there now who have no pictures of 304TL's in their home slide show, or may not have ever 'restrung' a recorder!!! So perhaps here's my shot at bringing back front panel switches on computers!!
(Acronyms!! What do all these acronyms mean??? NMR versus MRI, for example!!)
But I really realize quickly what an amateur I am (at both Home Pages and NMR..) when I see things like (...I am obligated to insert at this point Rich Shoemaker's Home Page... see NMR section for more details on other great UNL links besides Gerry's...) Gerry Harbison's Home Page, or the work that David Clunie has put into the Medical Image Format FAQ!!!
Albright history anyone? Find the year that I graduated by looking at Dr. Chuck's Albright Page, an Albright College unoffical Home Page! After Albright College, I attended Xavier University in Cincinnati, and then Wayne State University in Detroit! I started working for JEOL in NJ after I left WSU. Then when JEOL AI moved to Boston, I went to Siemens Medical Systems in Iselin, NJ (after commuting to Peabody from NJ for a short while)! How did I get to Texas, you ask? Someone I had known for a long time ask me how I would like to move to Houston! He had some venture capital lined up to build desktop imagers for carpal tunnel syndrome diagnosis. Unfortunately, the venture capital never materialized, but I decided to stay in Houston anyway (I was real tired of snow..)! It's a great place with great weather!
